Born 1937. Became Federal Member of Parliament in 1979. In 1991, after seven years as Minister of Finance, he became Minister of Industry, science and technology. He did not run in the 1993 election. He is currently (2007), Canadian Ambassador to the United States. Photograph from "The Canadian Champion"
