Pilot officer John Clements was killed on active service in England on September 15, 1941. He is buried in St. Michael's Parish Church Cemetery, Waddington, Lincolnshire, England. On the back of the photograph is written 'Per Ardua Ad Astra', the motto of the Royal Air Force and other Commonwealth Air Forces.
