Description
John W. Blight was born in Trafalgar Township in 1866, the son of Samuel Blight and Grace Williams. He was a printer by trade and worked for William Panton at "The Canadian Champion". He and F. Leonard White purchased the newspaper in July 1927 and were in partnership until his death in 1943 at which time the paper was sold to George A. Dills. John Blight married Margaret McEachern in 1907. They did not have a family. He was a member of Milton Methodist Church (later St. Paul's United Church), the Milton Fire Brigade and the Milton Lawn Bowling Club. He died in 1943 and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery. For further information, see "Milton Area Biographies" by Alex Cooke
