Description
George Brown was born in Waterdown and came to Milton in the 1830s. He was appointed County Treasurer and the first postmaster and was responsible for naming the town Milton. He was appointed the first Mayor of Milton when the town was incorporated in 1857. For further information, see "Milton Area Biographies" by Alex Cooke.
