- Myrtle Field was born in Milton in 1883, the daughter of James M. Field and Mary Bell. She started working at the Registry office at Milton during her high school years. After she left school she worked full time and in 1902 was appointed Deputy Registrar of Deeds for Halton County. In January 1935 she was appointed Registrar, only the second woman in Ontario to hold such a position. She retired in 1955 after 50 years of service. Miss field died in 1970 and was survived by her brother Roy. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Milton
