Description

Dr. Hume was born in Esquesing in 1830, the son of James Hume and Margaret Davidson. He graduated from the Toronto School of Medicine and then attended Jefferson College in Philadelphia taking the Degree of Doctor of Medicine. He came to Milton in 1855 where he practiced until his death in 1864. He married Pricillia Bessey and they had one daughter Wilhelmina. He is buried in Milton Bronte Pioneer Cemetery.
