Milton Public School, later known as Bruce St. School, was built in 1857 at a cost of 800 pounds (about $2,000). Its two foot thick walls were of local limestone. It served Milton until 1972. Bruce Street school was demolished in 1973 and the Milton Public Library erected on that space. 13 copies of this photograph. For further information see "An Indelible Imprint" by Jim Dills.
