The westerly section of St. Paul's United Church was built in the 1850s. The Wesleyan Methodist Church demolished in 1961 to make room for the Christian Education Centre, 1962. The lot under the two storey brick house on the west side of the Church was purchased from John Martin April 16, 1845 and subsequently James Laidlaw, early pioneer from Esquesing, built this house.
