William Panton was born in County Wicklow, Ireland. In 1841 he married Rebecca Sophia Pearson who was born in Patna, India. They had five girls and five boys. He emigrated to Canada in 1834 and settled in Nelson. He moved to Milton in 1857. This photograph was taken from "Milton Semi-Centennial 1857-1907".
