June 26-July 1 1957 saw Milton celebrate its 100th. The town and its population celebrated the event with an east to west "Downtown Parade" every evening (Monday-Friday) at 7:00 PM. The "Big Parade" was Saturday afternoon, July 1st, about 2:00 PM. Bands, Floats and Marchers proceeded from Ontario St west on Main St. through the downtown to Bronte Street.
Milton Centennial's Sarurday Parade also featured one of the earliest if not first parade appearance of a very new and young "BURLINGTON TEEN TOUR BAND" in their brilliant red uniforms.
Am very fortunate to have some home movies of some of the parades!
