- Description
- "September 21, 1984 - Some 4,000 police officers from across Canada and the United States, including the Metro Police Pipe Band, line the streets of Milton around St. Paul's United Church in tribute to their slain colleague, 40-year-old Metro constable David Dunmore, killed Tuesday by an 18-year-old gunman. Hundreds of residents of Dunmore's hometown joined by others from nearby comunities also gathered to watch the funeral, the largest police funeral in Canadian history. But only a small cortege went on to a simple graveside service."
