Milton - Demolished Buildings

    The Chocolate Box and the empty store were demolished c.1989-90. They were replaced by buildings similar in style to the two on the right hand side of the picture.

    The Dakota Mill, built in 1844, was named after the Dakota Indian Tribe, upon whose campgrounds it was built. It burned November 18, 1979. The mill has now been demolished.

    Ruins of lime kilns. They are located at Kelso near the Appleby Line. Production was stopped in the late nineteen-twenties. They are now part of a provincial park and have been preserved.

    Looking west, in the centre of the picture is the old Town Hall (now offices) and to the right is the old power station which was demolished.

    The house which was situated on Hugh Street, was demolished in 2007 to make room for the expansion of the Milton Town Hall.
